Landguard Systems joined the Home Secretary and over 270 other guests, donators and representatives from across the Service last month to mark the first anniversary of the dedication of the UK Police Memorial.

Opened by His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales on 28 July 2021, the memorial commemorates the nearly 4,500 UK Police officers and staff who have lost their lives protecting their communities since the introduction of the Bow Street Runners in 1749.

Situated at the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire, the memorial is funded through the Police Arboretum Memorial Trust, a registered charity with an ambitious campaign to raise £4 million.

As a way to show their gratitude for the work and risks our customers in the Service take to keep us safe, Landguard Systems donated to the Trust to help them realise their Phase II vision of inscribing the memorial in recognition of all those who have lost their lives, creating a digital memorial to tell their stories, and establishing a long-term programme to maintain the memorial for future generations.
